Group Space
What is a Group of this kind?
Why a Group?
my passion for group-work
I have been moved by the alchemy of group-work since my first experience of sharing with classmates aged 15. This transofrmed. -year-old self first encountered it as more open and undefended way of being.
In the intervening years, I have studied psychotherapy… etc, paricipatated in and factilitated many groups.
What is most precious to me is the opportunity group offers to explore ways of being and collaborate in each other’s unfoldment. So often, in social contexts, we are in some way repeating or defending ourselves. In a group where there is trust, capacity and clarity of intention, we can unfold in ways that surprise us and experience ourselves and others in ways that extend us both cognitively and empathically. allows us to unfold in ways that surprise us. i experience this as a kind of cross-fertilization, where a courageous inclusion in one member sets off a process in another.
individuation and particularity are very important qualities to cultivate in a group. We are not trying to agree that we are all ‘like-minded’, or that our experiences, suffering, capacities or joys are ‘the same, really’. Instead, we are learning to own our specificity, and to be extended in empathy and x by…

My wish is to create a safe, enriching and elaborative environment to support each participant - and the group as a whole - to unfold further in embodiment, insight and empathy for self and others.
Over our time together, we create a profound witnessing circle; a stimulate possibilities we don’t encounter alone; expand our appreciation and resonance with a very wide range of experiences.
This offering consciously creates space to reflect, express, explore how we are navigating this theme, and be stirred by the experiences of others. Together we form a deep reflective, relational listening field, where the specificity of your experience is respected. And where each of us can be extended, enriched in our empathy, insight and tolerance.
The experience of resonance, recognition, learning is hugely valuable within the group. It allows us to flesh out and embody our own truths, our own edges, to be witnessed by one another and to arrive in fuller more grounded expression of who we are.
Such expansions in empathic capacity transfer into our lives outside.
What are the benefits of exploring in a group vs individually?
As many of us are aware, many of the difficulties endemic to western culture spawn from an over-emphasis on the individual, that undervalues relationality, community and inter-dependence.
This creates isolation, inner-pressure, and a level of self-holding that is not natural for the human species. When we learn how to collaborate within a group, we roup work offers a natural and pro
At the heart of my motivation in creating this group is an impulse to cultivate emergent, generative space in which we can share and be witnessed in this central theme.
We negotiate too much alone and have too little access to spaces/environments of quality and presence that enable us to feel and be felt, to own the goodness and the costs of the price we pay.
Leonard Cohen says somewhere that the only really important question is: What are you going through?
That question is at the heart of this group. group work gets its charge/spark when we find a way to bring forth that which is within us.
How will we work together?
